Zain’s Story
While at college, Zain faced the loss of his father, leaving him, as the eldest of four brothers, under significant pressure to find stable, well-paying employment to support his mother and siblings.
To take up a role with Keepmoat, Zain endured a 1.5-hour train commute to Liverpool, arriving by 08:15 each morning after working night shifts running his home-based burger business. Balancing work, Zain also took care of his four-year-old brother in the mornings and evenings so that his mother could work night shifts.
When his brother fell ill and needed hospital care, Zain stayed with him, shouldering both family responsibilities and work commitments. Despite these pressures, he consistently showed up to work with a smile and gave his full effort. His dedication and determination eventually led to a full-time role, and he used his savings from his business to cover travel, food expenses, and, eventually, a car.
Zain has successfully completed Levels 2, 3, and 4 in Civil Engineering and is now progressing to Level 5 at the University of Salford, aiming to earn an undergraduate Level 6 degree. His long-term goal is to become a qualified civil engineer with international experience, ultimately aspiring to launch his own business and apply his global knowledge.
