Youthbuild UK welcomes Martyn Price MBE as a new trustee

Martyn Price MBE joins YBUK Trustee Board

Youthbuild UK is pleased to announce that Martyn Price MBE has joined its board of trustees with effect from 15 June 2023.

Martyn is Chair of the Cross-Industry Construction Apprenticeship Task Force, (CCATF), People and Business Development Director, at MPB Structures Ltd and Head of Workforce Development at VGC Group Ltd.

In 2012, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Martyn was honoured with an MBE for his services to apprenticeships and vocational skills.        

He is the Chair of the Cross-Industry Construction Apprenticeship Task Force (CCATF). The mission of the CCATF is to champion the ethos and culture of training within the construction industry by working with industry peers and stakeholders; to encourage those not training to do so and those that train to do more by promoting the benefits and value that hiring an apprentice can bring.  

Amongst a number of industry boards and other positions Martyn has or currently holds, one of the more recent was his appointment by The Department for Education (DfE) as a T Level panel member within the construction route panel, supporting the development of content for the Design, Surveying and Planning T Level. The ambition of the T Level programme is to provide technical knowledge and a qualification, which is now being delivered in schools and colleges as an alternative route to traditional A Levels.

Martyn is a big advocate of social mobility and in both his role at the CCATF and at MPB, Martyn recognises the opportunities to support disadvantaged young people and is regarded as the social mobility champion.

Martyn’s in-depth knowledge and experience of the industry’s training environment and his passion for supporting disadvantaged young people will strengthen Youthbuild UK’s ability to deliver its charitable objectives.
