Youthbuild UK Celebrates Outstanding Achievements at the 2024 Young Builder of the Year Awards
Youthbuild UK proudly announced the winners of the 2024 Young Builder of the Year Awards during a ceremony held at the House of Commons on the 20th November 2024. The event honoured young individuals who have overcome significant challenges to excel in the construction industry.
Winners of the 2024 Awards
14-18 Year-Old Category: Tyler Mudie
Tyler's journey began with personal adversity, including time in the care system. His interest in construction was sparked during an employability programme at Trinity Academy. Demonstrating dedication and a strong work ethic, Tyler secured an apprenticeship with Keepmoat and has since been promoted to Trainee Site Manager. He is currently enrolled in a Level 4 Apprentice Site Manager course at New College Durham.19-24 Year-Old Category: Zain Shafi
Following the loss of his father, Zain took on significant family responsibilities while pursuing his education. He managed a home-based business and commuted long distances to work with Keepmoat. His perseverance led to the completion of multiple qualifications in Civil Engineering, and he is now advancing towards a Level 6 degree at the University of Salford, with aspirations to become a qualified civil engineer and entrepreneur.

The Young Builder of the Year Awards celebrate the achievements of young people who have succeeded in training or gaining employment in the construction industry despite facing various challenges.

Youthbuild UK remains committed to supporting disadvantaged young people and collaborating with employers and organisations within the construction industry. The 2025 Young Builder of the Year Awards are scheduled for the 15th October 2025.
