The Winners of the 2017 Young Builder of the Year Awards are announced

All of the 2018 Young Builder of the Year Awards finalists with Baroness Smith of Basildon & Lindsay Hoyle MP, held at the House of Commons, Westminster, London, UK.

Judy Cobham-Lowe, one of the Judges, explained the judging process and stated how difficult it was to choose between the candidates who had all achieved so much in transforming their lives and that they were all winners.

We would like to express our thanks to Baroness Smith of Basildon, the President of Youthbuild UK, for once again arranging for the Awards Ceremony to be held on the House of Commons Terrace, and for her ongoing support.

Lindsay Hoyle MP, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons was our guest presenter this year. He told us how he started his working life as a bricklayer, before entering politics. He highlighted the demand that there is for skilled construction workers and suggested that our finalists could have a job for life carrying out the refurbishment of the Houses of Parliament!
